All-Star exhibition schedule for Overwatch League released
The series will get underway on May 15
The Overwatch League (OL) has released the schedule for the upcoming 2019 All-Star series and the annual games are going to be an improvement over last year. The exhibition matches are certainly going to be a huge hit and a variety of custom skill matches will be making their way to the playing field. The All-Star excitement kicks off on May 15.
The Talent Takedown event is certainly going to be a crowd-pleaser. Coaches from both the Atlantic and Pacific divisions draft players to form teams that consist of OL broadcast talent for participation in a three-map series. The 1v1 Widowmaker Duels event will also be hot, with players from each division facing off in a headshot-only elimination tournament.
Starting today, the OL Twitter account is going to allow fans to place their votes for additional arcade modes. Among the options are Sibling Rivalry, which has teams comprised of three Genjis and Hanzos, and Healers Never Die, among others.
On May 16, teams from the Atlantic and Pacific regions will square off in the All-Star main event, which is going to be a first-to-four map series using OL game settings. The players must play at least one map during the series and one All-Star coach will oversee the rosters and the strategies.
Until April 28, fans can vote for the players that they to see make an appearance in the All-Star event. Those six players who receive the most votes in each division – up to two players a role – will lead off at the event. In addition, 12 reserve players will be chosen for each division by coaches, broadcast talent, staff and players.
The games will start each day at 8 PM Central and will be broadcast on the OL site, ESPN2 and Twitch.
