Simplicity to open 5 eSports facilities
The five facilities will offer a combined 9,000 square feet and 150 gaming stations
eSports organization Simplicity is looking to expand its reach. It has announced that it will launch five eSports gaming centers in various locations around the U.S., starting with its first new facility in Boca Raton, FL. All five facilities are expected to offer a total of 9,000 square feet of space and more than 150 gaming stations.
The Boca Raton facility is expected to be inaugurated next month. The launch of all of the facilities is part of Simplicity’s franchise partner program, which allows the centers to be opened under the organization’s brand. All centers will offer “cutting edge technology including high-performance PCs.”
Simplicity CEO Jed Kaplan said in a statement, “I am excited to announce the opening of our first Esports Gaming Center and the locations of our next four. Our goal is to open 15 locations by year-end and a total of 50 nationwide in the next 24 months. Additionally, we offer attractive opportunities for advertisers and sponsors to connect with our audience via our digital and physical real estate.”
Simplicity was acquired by SMAAASH Entertainment late last year. As part of the new goal of the company, it plans on putting in brick-and-mortar eSports facilities across the country. The organization participates in a number of popular games, including Gears of War, Guns of Boom, PUBG, Smite and others.
Following the acquisition by SMAAASH, Kaplan stayed on as a co-CEO. He is also a minority owner of the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA and Swansea City, a Welsh soccer club.
