Amazon Prime users have 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online for free
The limited time offer will make video game fans happy
Being a subscriber to Amazon Prime has its perks. It should, since the annual subscription fee continues to go up year after year. Sometimes, paying the subscription will award bonus subscriptions for other services and free-trial offers, and the latest perk should prove to be a huge hit with video gamers. As of yesterday, Amazon Prime is awarding 12 months of access to Nintendo Switch Online.
The deal is a first for Amazon, having never created a special offer with a console maker before. It’s available for new and existing subscriptions and is available through a Twitch Prime perks page.
For those who may have already paid for their annual Nintendo Switch Online subscription, the new offer will include the free months in addition to the paid period. If the subscription was just paid last month, in 11 months, the free subscription will begin. If the subscription is about to expire, this is the perfect time to consider an Amazon Prime subscription.
Amazon is making sure that subscribers who opt for a one-month subscription cannot take advantage of the deal. When the Amazon Prime subscription is purchased, the Nintendo deal is provided for three months. 60 days into that 3-month window, Amazon automatically looks at the Prime account to make sure it is still active and then authorizes the additional nine months.
Nintendo Switch Online normally costs $20 for an annual subscription. It provides access to a number of titles, including Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as well as 20 downloadable emulated NES titles.
