‘Man bun thief’ on the loose in Vegas casinos
The thief has been stealing from patrons at casinos across the city
The “Man Bun Thief” is on the loose in Las Vegas. The crook was given the name by local police for his hairstyle and he is currently being sought, along with an accomplice, by the police for a string of thefts of patrons at a number of casinos across Sin City. According to some of the victims, many of whom have been women, he is described as “tall and dreamy.”
Last month, Man Bun Thief stole a vest from a victim while the individual gambled at a downtown casino. The vest contained the individual’s wallet and the perpetrator was caught on camera. According to an officer with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD), Larry Hadfield, “You got to remember, these people are criminals and it’s a crime of opportunity for them.”
In the casino’s surveillance cameras, Man Bun Thief was seen entering the casino with another individual, but there has still been no definite connection between the two. Hadfield adds, “He might not be involved, but turn your friend in there’s no sense in getting trouble.”
The LVMPD isn’t sure how many crimes the thief now has under his bun, since many small crimes are never reported to the police. However, the department wants patrons to be more vigilant of both their belongings and of others with whom they come in contact.
Hadfield cautions, “Ladies if you have purses, make sure you keep them attached to your body with the strap. Gentleman keep your wallets cellphones in your front pockets.”
