US Crypto fans can now buy Bitcoin using debit cards
Genmega manages upwards of 100,000 fiat ATMs around the US, giving users easy access to their cash every day of the week. Those ATMs will now add a special feature that will turn them into Bitcoin Core (BTC) ATMs, as well. The move will almost instantaneously expand BTC purchasing capabilities to a massive number of individuals around the country.
According to a press release, LibertyX, a cryptocurrency company, has partnered with Genmega to facilitate BTC purchases through the ATMs. The crypto capability is achieved through a simple software upgrade to the ATM, which will make integration easy and quick. It will allow users - both established crypto enthusiasts and newcomers - to purchase BTC using their debit cards with the crypto being delivered directly to the users' wallets.
According to Chris Yim, co-founder and CEO of LibertyX, "We have been working tirelessly to make it easier to buy cryptocurrencies for the last five years and now are bringing simplicity, convenience and trust to the cryptocurrency purchasing experience through the timeless ATM."
Genmega Senior VP Wes Dunn added, "ATM operators are always looking for ways to grow volume and transactions. We are excited to work with LibertyX on this new initiative that will drive additional foot-traffic to merchant locations and provide added revenue to our operators ? ensuring they stay ahead of the market and bring added value to consumers."
This is an incredible advance for cryptocurrency awareness and adoption in the US. It makes it significantly easier to purchase BTC, which can then be used at a growing number of brick-and-mortar and eCommerce retailers. With the endeavor, cryptocurrency will continue to gain legitimacy as a true form of currency and will lead to the rest of 2018 and all of next year being set up to bring substantial expansion of the cryptocurrency industry.
