SitNPlay Expands Open Beta Reall Money Esports Platform for Enthusiast Players
SitNPlay Games, a platform that offers real money esports for enthusiast players, announced its open beta today. The platform is fresh out of the MIT Play Labs accelerator program and preparing for full launch with its latest round of seed funding.
SitNPlay began its initial open beta phase in August with the launch of casual Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitions for money. Since then, the platform has attracted over 10,000 players who have played in more than 15,000 matches and 1,000 group tournaments.
The success since launch attracted investors including Play Labs, Seraph, NorthBay. According to company CEO and co-founder Leandro Gabrielzyk, they are building the biggest platform to serve average players – enthusiasts who may never break into the pros or semi-pros.
The platform model is designed to serve the 99 percent of gamers with the drive to compete on an amateur level. It gives them the chance to monetize their hobby using the skills they have now, as opposed to investing hundreds of hours of practice on the slim chance of making it like a pro.
The current beta offering by SitNPlay includes ad-hock matches, tournaments, server rental, and giveaways. In ad-hoc matches, players create challenge matches with money at stake and wait for an opponent to accept. The server rental option allows players to practice without hassle or long-term commitments.
The platform's tournaments operate under standard structures, allowing winners to advance on to higher stages until a single player emerges as the winner. Tournament champions will cash prizes.
