Borgata Wins Property of the Year at Global Gaming Awards
Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa received the most prestigious title of the industry for 2018. Borgata was named “Property of the Year” at the Global Gaming Awards, part of the 2018 Global Gaming Expo. The title is a newly-added honor to the annual industry showcase.
Borgata has plenty of boasts to justify winning the first GGE Property of the Year award. It was the first casino in Atlantic City to launch sports betting over the summer, it operates industry-leading online poker and casino gaming sites, and hosts an entertainment roster that is the envy of the region.
Over the past year, stars including Cher, Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chapelle, and Ringo Starr have graced the stages of the Borgata. The property also celebrated the culinary arts with its Savor Borgata Culinary series, which attracted celebrity chefs from around the world and included multiple tasting events.
A panel of 60 judges hailing from all corners of the global gaming industry selected Borgata for the honor. The event took place on Monday night at the Sands Expo Las Vegas. Ten casinos were nominated for the honor.
Borgata beat Foxwood Resort Casino, the largest resort casino in the nation; Mohegan Sun Casino, the other tribal casino in Connecticut, and Mount Airy Casino Resort in Pennsylvania.
The honor comes as Borgata celebrates its 15the year of operations. Borgata chief operating officer Marcus Glover said the award validates the hard work every member of the Borgata team has invested in the property over the past 15 years.
