The top cryptocurrencies for the week of September 28th
After a 4% rebound over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin is on track to finish the week roughly where it started. While this small bounce should silence the bitcoin bears from claiming the sky is falling, the bulls aren’t celebrating in the streets either.
Even though the current $6,700 price is 15% higher than the lows we saw during the summer, traders and analysts are wondering when the currency is going to finally take flight again. What happens next is anyone’s guess, but there has been positive crypto news this week that might help put the spring in bitcoin’s step this fall.
Earlier this week Google announced that they are lifting part of their ban on cryptocurrency ads, which has been in effect since June. As you might recall, this sweeping ban caused cryptocurrencies to tank when it was first announced.
Google will continue to bar ads for wallets, trading advice, and initial coin offerings when this new policy change begins in October. Still, this an obvious sign that cryptos are gaining legitimacy.
On a lighter note, Bitcoin has been added to the Merriam-Webster Scrabble Dictionary. It’s true, you can finally earn your 11 points by spelling the world’s most popular blockchain asset. Yet there’s more to this story than fun and games. This addition goes to show you just how much awareness there is for bitcoin. Let’s not forget that you can’t have wide acceptance without awareness.
Most people know that we always love giving Bitcoin the attention it deserves, but we actually accept more than 60 different cryptocurrencies at Americas Cardroom. We’re proud to never play favorites, so you can use what works best for you. Here are the top five cryptos used on our site during the past week:
