Burn Dog poker run set for this Saturday
The Burn Dog Poker Run in Greenville, OH is entering its tenth successful year. For the first time in that decade, it had to be postponed due to weather. Originally scheduled for last Saturday, the poker run will now be held this Saturday, with the same lineup in store for participants.
Registration will be held at Sloopy's in Greenville beginning at 11 AM. The cost is $20 per ride and $10 per passenger. The best poker hand will receive a prize, and the event will also offer door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and raffle items.
The first motorcycles will leave the gate at 1 PM for the 100-mile ride. Participants will be welcomed by a "sausage gravy and biscuit breakfast" at Sloopy's as they arrive. Upon conclusion of the run, Sloopy's will provide shredded chicken sandwiches and chips to the participants.
Stops along the run include Cruizers in Russia, Piqua's Mulligan's Pub, the Rip Rap Roadhouse in Dayton and TJ Chumps in Englewood. Riders should be back to Sloopy's by 6 PM for events scheduled for that evening.
This year, proceeds from the event will be donated to Greenville's Filby family. Knox Filby suffers from a range of complications, including a congenital heart defect and the family is returning home after spending 310 days in the hospital.
Following the run, there will be an auction that includes several locally-made items, like a wooden Harley Davidson bench, a wooden flag and a fire pit. There will also be bike games, including a slalom and burnout competition and live entertainment
