Arlie Shaban receives first "Labor of Arlie" challenge
Just over a week ago, Arlie Shaban accepted the 12 Labors of Arlie challenge. The poker player didn't know what he was getting into, but isn't one to ever back down from an interesting challenge. His first task was revealed and proved to be a tough one. He had to battle it out against poker pro Lex Veldhuis in heads-up action.
Veldhuis met his opponent on the virtual battlefield and was prepared for victory. He immediately fired off two bullets to try to build his stack, but the match didn't go his way. The two swapped the lead several times throughout the match, but Shaban, playing as "Prince Pablo," wore Veldhuis down and finally won when he scored a straight on the turn to best the pocket 7s held by Veldhuis.
With the first challenge behind him, Shaban will have to wait to see what's up next. The challenges, which are a take on the "12 Labors of Hercules," are reportedly expected to get more difficult as they progress. If taking on Veldhuis was meant to be an "easy task," one can only imagine what could be coming.
Shaban is a Canadian poker player and streamer out of Canada. He is known as the man behind the 1,000-hour streaming session across 125 days, including a straight 43-hour stream. He is also an ambassador for Run It Up and once appeared on Big Brother Canada.
