Negreanu gets in a little action in Bobby’s Room
Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio in Vegas is well-known for offering high-stakes games and attracting some of the best names in the game. Taking a little break from the WSOP action, Daniel Negreanu joined up with Gus Hansen and a few other players a few days ago for a bit of fun at the felt. According to Hansen, it was a "lucky day" to have Kid Poker at the tables.
Also sitting down for a few hands was Dan "Jungleman" Cates, who recently picked up second place at an NLHE Short Deck tournament at the Triton Super High Roller Bowl in Montenegro, Doyle Brunson and Mike Gorodinksy. While there was no word on who emerged as the big winner on the day, with these players at the tables, the action was guaranteed to be lively. For his part, Negreanu posted a short video on his YouTube vlog where he indicated that he took home $82,500 at a Pot-Limit Omaha game.
Bobby’s Room is named for Bobby Baldwin, a casino executive and poker player who won the 1978 WSOP Main Event to become the youngest Main Event winner at the time. The 2003 Poker Hall of Fame inductee has won a total of four WSOP bracelets – three in a row from 1977 to 1979 – and has continued to be a strong force in promoting poker at a number of casino properties. Games in Bobby’s Room have a minimum buy-in of $20,000 and the poker room hosts the highest limit poker action in the world.
