Polk gets into another Twitter tussle
Dan Bilzerian is known for showmanship. He did okay for himself at the poker tables, but never made it to great heights. He still became a headliner, though, given his outspoken personality and questionable public outbursts. Bilzerian, who supposedly made a fortune in Bitcoin, recently announced a return to cryptocurrency, and Doug Polk, known for his brash commentaries on other players, didn’t hold back.
Bilzerian announced his return to cryptocurrency on Twitter, stating simply, "Time to get back in crypto." It was a tame comment that really didn’t warrant much attention, but Polk, who is also into crypto, just couldn’t resist. He responded, "If you ever have to get back into crypto you are doing it wrong." And it all snowballed from there.
Bilzerian fired back, challenging Polk, "Selling my bitcoin at 16,500 was wrong huh? Plz tell me what I’m doing wrong you dumb shut, make sure to use my name so people pay attention to you."
In an effort to not bore everyone with all the details, I’m not going to regurgitate the childish banter here. However, at the end of the back-and-forth, Bilzerian offered a $1-million bet to Polk that he could show poker winnings exceeding $40 million in a "one or two year period," saying that he’s one more in one night than Polk has won his entire life. Polk offered a rebuttal, and a different challenge. He suggested a poker match between the two.
Not surprisingly, Bilzerian never responded to the challenge, only reiterated his belief that he can produce more evidence of wins than can Polk.
