WSOP NJ Ramps Up Promotions for WSOP 2018 in Nevada
As Nevada gears up for the World Series of Poker at the end of May, the WSOP is building excitement among poker fans online. In New Jersey, WSOP.com launched a variety of promotions including satellite events offering entry into live WSOP events in Nevada.
Despite having the same branding, the WSOP online poker sites in Nevada and New Jersey have separate player pools. The two states signed an agreement to share online player pool liquidity, but that agreement has yet to take effect. The states still have not set a plan in motion for the launch of player pool sharing.
This means WSOP.com is still free to launch very different promotions for the 2018 WSOP in the brand’s separate online gaming markets. Unfortunately for players in New Jersey, this means fewer crossover promotions for the live events overall, and fewer opportunities to win live event entry through a satellite.
Though New Jersey players have access to just 50 percent of the 2018 WSOP promotions as Nevada players, there are currently four satellite entry options available. All four run on Sundays between 5:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. There is also a leaderboard which promises the top player entry into the WSOP online bracelet event.
The first two online WSOP satellites in New Jersey have $10 buy-ins and offered entry into either the $565 Colossus opening event or the $1,000 buy-in WSOP Turbo event. The third is a $320 online satellite event offering a seat in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event. The last Sunday WSOP promotion is a $30 buy-in WSOP Kick-off Weekend Package satellite.
