Chris Moorman collects 360th online tournament win
Chris Moorman has proven himself to be one of poker's elite players, mastering the game in both live tournaments and online. He has accumulated over $5 million in live action, including a 2nd-place finish for $1 million at the 2011 WSOPE, and almost $15 million at the virtual felt. He has now surpassed 360 online tournament wins, following a stellar performance at the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up.
The tournament, held on the site every Sunday, is a $215 buy-in event with a $200,000 guarantee. Yesterday's tournament saw participation by 1,262 players, which pushed the prize pool up to $252,400. 215 players were able to finish in the money, with Moorman taking the top prize of $39,343. He also won a $30,000 PokerStars Platinum Pass, which gives him entry into the PokerStars Players Championship scheduled for January of next year prior to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. That event will offer a $9-million prize pool.
The 32-year-old British player has been on the poker scene since 2008. His first final table appearance came three years later when he finished 7th at the 2011 Aussie Millions Poker Championship. That same year, he was the WSOP Player of the Year following a bullish run that included his second-place win at the WSOPE Main Event. He has one WSOP bracelet and one WPT title.
