PUBG Update Brings Friends List and Emote System
The latest update has arrived for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on PC. The update went live on Monday night and included new features such as an in-game friends list and a new emote system. PC 1.0 update 7 arrived immediately after a larger game update over the weekend.
PUBG players can now make use of 12 unique emotes in the PC edition of the game, with more on the way. Emotes are activated by pressing the ~ key along with a left-click on the desired move.
The new in-game friends list is a separate feature from players' Steam friends list. It allows players to connect with up to 50 other players in the game. Players can see when their friends are logged in, and they can also now engage in voice chat while still in the main menu.
Aside from fun new features that enhance the social functions of PUBG, the update brings several bug fixes that will make the game more enjoyable to play. It repairs the fatal bug that caused players to die instantly while faulting or climbing. It also optimizes aspects of the game so that it runs more smoothly on PC.
Developer PUBG Corp. says other update plans, including the plan for a new limb and vehicle penetration system, have been put on hold for the moment. These updates, along with a new map, are on the way and should arrive on the Experimental Test Server by next month.
The developer also addressed the removal of their recently instituted anti-cheat measures, saying they have been taken down temporarily due to compatibility issues.
