Hearthstone Witchwood Card Reveals: Vex Crow and Darius Crowley
By Bob Garcia
The next Hearthstone expansion, The Witchwood, is in the works and Blizzard has been busy building up hype this week by revealing cards. The two latest cards in the spooky new expansion are Vex Crow and Darius Crowley, a Mage minion and a Warrior legendary, respectively.
Vex Crow offers a boost for Tempo Mage decks. Whenever the card is in play, the card will summon a random 2-Cost minion when spells are cast. The card is on the expensive side at four mana but has the potential to pull off a power play when used with proper timing.
Darius Crowley is powerful card equipped with Rush. It gains +2/+2 whenever it scores a kill after attacking a minion. Similar to a card with the same effect, The Boogeymonster, Darius Crowley is slightly different for its Rush. The card is a five mana 4/4 that could prove to be overpowered once the Witchwood expansion goes live next month.
The Witchwood expansion is the first in the Year of the Raven for Hearthstone’s standard rotation. It is expected to launch in mid-April. Previous cards revealed so far in the latest expansion include Clockwork Automaton and Blackwald Pixie.
Clockwork Automaton is essentially the same a Prophet Velen in the Classic set Priest legendary. It is a neutral card, but it will function best in Priest decks and is expected to help the Combo Priest stay relevant. The less-powerful Blackwald Pixie refreshes hero power only once, though once is enough when a hero is down to one man.
