Vikings look to play in and host Super Bowl 52
Super Bowl 52 will be played in Minneapolis on February 4th, setting up a unique scenario that is attracting the attention of bettors.
No team in NFL history has every played in the Super Bowl on its own home field. That could change this year as Minnesota (10-2) currently holds the top spot in the NFC after Philly (10-2) lost at Seattle on Sunday Night Football.
The recently redesigned Americas Cardroom sportsbook still has Philly (+209) leading the way in the conference odds, with Minnesota (+272) close behind. New Orleans (+477) is solidly in third place, with Seattle (+745), L.A. Rams (+780) and Atlanta (+866) following.
Looking ahead, if the Vikings do make the Super Bowl and play on their home field, it would affect the point spread some, but not much. Super Bowl tickets are spread out equally to both teams as well as given to corporate sponsors etc, so it wouldn’t be a typical home game for the Vikes.
Minnesota would likely be a touchdown dog to New England or Pittsburgh if one of those matchups occurs.
