Las Vegas-based Casino Scouts announced its purchase of the Robins/Hepworth patent for an unspecified amount.  The patent offers a platform for live gambling through players’ smartphones and tablets in games such as roulette, poker and craps while visiting a casino.  The application provides mobility and allows for players to not be physically tied to a gaming table or activity.

Casino Scouts launched in 2015 and provides innovative marketing and operations technology to the gaming industry.  By purchasing the Robins/Hepworth patent, it is able to extend its offerings and offer a more flexible gaming experience.  Casino Scouts announced that it also intends to develop technologies for tournaments, social gaming and fantasy sports.

The concept for the application was created in 2006 by Stephen Robins and Robert Hepworth.  The application provides a method for users to place bets on various gaming activities within a casino setting, without the users being physically at the activity.  Casinos benefit from deployment of the application by the increase in table traffic and betting opportunities.
