Gamblit is Making 'Deal or No Deal Poker' Game Show Machines for Casinos
The race to make a slot machine with millennial appeal continues with “Deal or No Deal” game show machines. Designed by Gamblit Gaming, the maker of skill-based video game machines for casinos, the new game show machines add a poker spin on the popular TV show.
Try as they might, casinos and slot machine makers have yet to find the gaming machine that will appeal to millennials in the way slots appealed to their parents. Will Deal or No Deal Poker be the machine to finally fetch those elusive young gamblers?
Today's 20-and-30-somethings like esports and video games. Gamblit tried that angle with the skill-based slot machine Cannonbeard's Treasure and the response from their target market was underwhelming.
Millennials also like poker. By blending a poker game with the popular money case show Deal or No Deal” Gamblit hopes to recreate familiar fun with a real-money wagering twist. The show has been around for 17 years, making it something most millennials grew up watching.
Like the TV show, the new games task players with finding the briefcase with the most money. The official press release for the new machines did not go into detail about the structure of the game or what kind of deals will be available to players, but it did say players will have multiple ways to place bets.
The machines are set to make their first public appearance at Gamblit Gaming's booth at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) on October 3-5. However, Gamblit says the machines will not make their way to casino floors until sometime in 2018.
