Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has just made two major announcements. The first is a partnership with the digital gaming studio Victory Square Ventures to develop new gaming and betting-related entertainment tech. The second is the addition of a zipline attraction to their casino.
Foxwoods already launched a free-to-play gambling website last year. The new partnership will build on that platform to create “The Living Lab.” According to the official press release, it will be “the next step in Foxwoods’ gaming evolution.”
Victory Square Ventures is a studio involved in online gaming as well as daily fantasy sports, lottery, virtual gaming and augmented reality. It offers Foxwoods a chance to become an industry leader online as their brick-and-mortar casino market becomes increasingly competitive.
And speaking of outdoing the competition, that is exactly what Foxwoods intends to this summer with the addition of a 33-story high zipline attraction.
Thrill-seeking and gambling go hand-in-hand, is the idea, and Foxwoods is about to thrill the summer tourist boom with a high dose of vertigo.
The Highflyer Zipline will run a full 3,750 feet from the top of the Fox Tower to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center. The ride runs at 60 mph. Riders won’t be lonely as they fly high with four parallel lines running at once.
The Zipline will be unveiled as part of the casino’s 25th anniversary celebrations this summer. Later in the summer Foxwoods will also cut ribbons on a new Italian restaurant, Caputo Trattoria.
