“Molly’s Game” Poker Movie Will Disguise Celebrity Identities

Upcoming poker movie “Molly’s Game” will detail the proceedings of the underground celebrity poker ring run by the main character in her Los Angeles home. The much-anticipated film has captivated the attention of movie fans and poker players alike as it is based on a true story. However, don’t expect to see portrayals of the famous A-list clients as the director has other plans.

The notorious underground games included big name clients like Ben Affleck, Tobey Maguire, Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Alex Rodriguez. But, director Aaron Sorkin refuses to unmask the celebrities and has chosen a different path. Sorkin unveiled footage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and reports back say the director has gone to great lengths to disguise real identities. This makes it impossible to tell who the actual celebrity is in real life. Additionally, producers of the film did not invite the real-life players to the movie premiere.

In a statement, Sorkin said “I have gone to great lengths to obscure the identities of those people . . . I don’t want the movie to be about gossip.”

The film will see Jessica Chastain as Molly Bloom, aspiring skier whose career ends and as a result finds herself running the underground poker operation, alongside a star studded cast.
