Will Kevin Costner Be Next To Star In Upcoming Poker Movie?
"Molly's Game", the long awaited poker movie from Aaron Sorkin keeps throwing up a steady drip drip drip of news and rumors concerning its casting, and the latest one is juicy. It's being reported that Kevin Costner has been approached by the "Molly's Game" people to see if he'd like to play the role of Molly Bloom's father. It's as yet unconfirmed whether Costner, who became massive in the 90s with "The Bodyguard" and "Dances With Wolves" among others, will actually agree to sign on to this. Right now it's early stages and insiders are saying that they're still working out a deal that would work for all parties.
If Costner did sign on, though, he'd join confirmed cast members Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, and Michael Cera in the movie about Hollywood poker princess Molly Bloom, an ex-skier who ended up moving to Los Angeles and running high stakes poker games for movie stars and Wall Street executives. Bloom made millions of dollars setting up these games until she was arrested in 2014. Among the stars who were regular guests at Bloom's poker tables were the likes of Ben Affleck and Leonardo DiCaprio. Bloom was brought down in the end by the FBI because it turned out that some of people that she arranged games for were connected with the Russian mafia.
For poker fans, this movie is set to be the best thing in years. Filming is set to start within a matter of weeks.
