RunGood End Of Summer Series Ends With Rob Palacio Win
The RunGood Poker Series "End of Summer" tour has concluded in Harrah's North Kansas City after a three-stop whirl around the Midwest staging tournaments in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Horseshoe Council Bluffs, Iowa prior to this last call.
The Main Event of the North Kansas City tournament was won by Rob Palacios, a local Kansas City firefighter (according to his Instagram account) and enthusiastic amateur poker player. Palacios ended up taking home $29,833 for his RunGood win in the $675 Buy-In Main Event. At the end of the day, the final table was entirely made up of local players and was actually the first time during the 2016 "End of Summer" tour that no RunGood professional player did not make it past Day Two of the Main Event, proving that sometimes the local guys hold all the best cards.
In response to his win, Palacios was emotional and indicated that the money would be a massive help to him at this time, telling reporters, "I'm really happy to win, my wife and I are planning on starting a family - this is really going to help. I played a lot of poker with these guys the past few days and I'm excited to win the trophy."
The North Kansas City Main Event attracted 252 players and ended up with a guaranteed prize pool of over $150,000.
