The Beast FAQ

Included on this page below are the frequently asked questions, please click on them in order to display the answer. If the answer to your question is not listed here please contact us.

What is The Beast?

The Beast is the world’s first and only progressive rake race. Players are awarded with points for every hand played on the Hold’em tables marked as “Jackpot (JP).” A minimum of four players are dealt into a pot. The Beast has a progressive jackpot that will grow for each hand played at those tables. Ultimately, thousands of dollars are given away at the end of the week to our top-ranked players.

How do I join The Beast?

It’s automatic when you contribute to a raked pot at a jackpot table; you’re automatically entered into the race.

What are the available prizes and payout structure?

The Beast gives away cash and tournament entries to some special online satellite tournaments. For more information click the Rewards tab (Points Race section) on the poker client.

How do I earn points?

You’ll earn 1 point for every $0.02 fed to The Beast generated by you using the Weighted Contributed Rake methodology.

Here’s a look at how much money goes to feed The Beast.

Players at the Table Cash to feed The Beast Max. Amount
2 players at the table $0.02 out of every $0.06 in rake up to$ 0.04
3 players at the table $0.02 out of every $0.06 in rake up to$ 0.08
4 players or more at the table $0.02 out of every $0.06 in rake up to $0.24

What is an example of how points are distributed?

Let’s look at a 9-handed, $0.10/$0.25 ring game table, where everyone folds except for four players (A—small blind, B—big blind, C and D). Regardless of how the hand plays out, all four players who contributed to the rake will earn points. Since this is a $0.10/$0.25 table, a total of 6 points are awarded. We’ll then divide the 6 points by the 4 players. This means that each player gets 1.5 points towards the leader board.

What is the “contributed” method of earning?

The “contributed” method of earning is very beneficial to the player. It is where only players that made actual contribution to the pot receive credit (points) for the hand. The contribution can be either direct (call, raise) or indirect (small or big blind).

How can I check my status on The Beast?

One great thing about The Beast is that it has a live scoreboard. Open the poker client and hit the Rewards tab (Points Race section). You’ll see where you rank, what your current cash and tournament entry prizes look like, and other important information.

How often are my stats updated?

The Beast Points are updated in real time.
