In and Out List of this week
These are the two do-gooders and two ne’er-do-wells in the poker world of this week. These lists include the best and not-so-good events that occurred during last week. Internet Poker
This week’s list features 75 billion hands played, Devo’s latest win along with Jamie Gold, Daniel Negreanu and the Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking changes.
IN list:
Chopping the 75 Billionth: IN
Earlier today the 75 billion hand was played in a very well-known online poker website and to celebrate $140,000 well be given away to the winner.
But the best part of this is that the pot was chopped and two players will have their prizes doubled!
Congratulations to both lucky winners.
Bryan Devonshire’s his Second WSOPC Ring
The man known as Devo has won his second WSOP Circuit Ring as he defeated the venerable Paul “Eskimo” Clark heads-up and pocketed an incredible $55,291 cash to take home. In total 228 players were in for the game and bought into the $1k event.
No so bad for someone who had just missed the 2011 November Nine, and finished only in the 12th place in the Main Event for over $600,000. Devonshire is now getting closer to $2 million in lifetime earnings. Play Poker
OUT list:
Daniel Negreanu for Bubbling the $250k Down Under
Daniel Negreanu is in the Out list this week for nailing the $250k bubble in the Super High Roller at the Aussie Millions. And instead finishing in third place and winning $800k, he went out in the fourth place and lost $250,000. To make matters worse, although apparently he was having a good time, Negreanu spent the next evening with the man who busted him out of the Super High Roller with jacks against A-8. Antonius, his wife Maya, Jason Mercier and his fiancée all went to the Aussie Open finals for that epic Nadal/Djokovic finale.
11 Players from the Global Poker Index
Earlier this week we heard that 11 players were knocked off the weekly Global Poker Index ranking. The GPI ranks the top 300 live tournament players in the world.
Among those bumped off the list was Maria Ho, who has been in the top 300 since the 2011 WSOP, and Cornel Cimpan, who earned over $3 million in 2009 but, who unfortunately, hasn’t done a whole lot lately.
Still in the number one spot is Erik Seidel, whose 2011 year was among the greatest in poker history. Seidel has been number one 14 of the 32 weeks the GPI has been in existence. That’s more than any other player.
So, these are the IN and OUT lists of this week. Remember to keep an eye on the following weeks as many events will continue to happen. With all the excitement about to occur, it is certain that many changes and news will keep us busy as we put together more IN and OUT lists for the world of poker.
This is all for now, and remember to keep playing!
